Fashion Illustration: Mona

Illustrating pretty outfits has been one of my favourite things to do with my watercolour paints for a very long time and before that with my felt-tip pens as a child. I can't paint as much as I used to because of my health but whenever I can, even in bed, I love to escape into my favourite hobby. It has been a very long time since I posted any of my work on here, so I thought it would be nice to write a short post to share my recent illustration with you, painted a few weeks ago.

This illustration has been inspired by one of my favourite bloggers, Mona who blogs at Curls & Cakes. Mona is a beautiful person and one of the kindest bloggers I have 'met' online. I really admire her style and often find myself wishing I owned items from her wardrobe, like this velvet dress by Book Of Deer, which Mona teamed with a pretty heart print blouse by H&M. My favourite thing about painting Mona was trying to create her amazing long, dark curls!

I would love to know what you think of my illustration and whether you would like to see any more posts like this.

  1. Oh Emma you are just such a sweet and lovely person!
I'm sorry your health stops you from doing something you love. I can relate to that, when I was feeling my worst (with the depression and OCD) I couldn't really do the things I found fun, and it does become very irritating to not have the energy or possibility to do something that you would enjoy. It's good that you still try to do it every once in a while. I think it helps the soul to do the thinks we like.
You are just the most beautiful, and sweetest lovely lady there is. Your kind words about me has warmed my heart. I feel the same way about you, and am so happy that we "met".

I say yes to more illustrations!! I would love to see more posts like this. I am totally in awe at your amazing talent! I didn't know you made such beautiful illustrations, and I would love to see more of them! Plus, it's always nice to share things you're passionate about with others ;)

  4. Wow that drawing is amazing! I would do this as well when I was about 6 years old I would design the outfits and I would stick on pieces of old fabric aas well like old jeans and such. I would love to draw my own outfits but I have forgotten how to draw I stopped drawing when I started secodary school and that is saying a lot because I used to draw non-stop.I miss those days!
    Nice post :)xx
