Second Style By Portobello Box

My second Bello Box arrived just before I left for my holiday in Cornwall. My postie, who might just be the happiest postman around, has taken to joking about the amount of parcels I receive. It's true, there's a lot of post that turns up at my door. Getting post is a lifeline for someone who can't get out much, so I was very much looking forward to seeing what vintage treasures were inside this box.
I took my box into the garden to open and take a peak inside and  I found an unusual vintage fabric bag in a pretty pale blue colour and a string of off white beads. Pixie thought the box was fabulous, claiming it as her own the minute I opened it and even hissed at me when I tried to move the bag! She's such a diva!
The bag is really versatile, I would use it as a lightweight handbag in summer and think it's pretty enough to hang on a wardrobe door holding threads and needles away from prying paws.

The necklace, which almost became ruined by Pixie as she got over excited by the arrival of the box, is lovely, it goes with so much and is a fantastic accessory for summer.

I'm really enjoying having a box of vintage accessories hand picked to my tastes turn up at my door, the people at Style By Portobello have done a fab job at scouting out items that I would love. Today I've teamed both my Bello Box treasures with a simple dress by Miss Patina for an easy effortless summer outfit.

I'll have one more Portobello Box to share with you before my ambassador subscription is up. If you would like to subscribe or see what it's all about in more detail then check out the website (here).

Hope you're having a good week.

Valentina Outfit

Dress - Asos (here)
Tiara - Samantha Walden (here)
Shoes - Marks and Spencer (here)

I've been trying to write this post for the last three weeks but for one reason or another I've not managed to get much done and my focus has definitely gone a bit squiffy, so I decided to leave it and take a break over my holiday in Cornwall. I got back home earlier in the week and although my body is very weak from it my mind is a little clearer. It's a much slower pace of life down there which suits me just fine. The air is so much clearer and fresher too, allowing me to feel like I can finally breathe again after the stuffiness of living so close to London. I took outfits to photograph with me but was too unwell to capture any of them, so I'm pretty happy that I had this outfit tucked away on my hard drive to share with you today.

I've admired this dress for a while now, but it wasn't until I saw it on Andini that I actually bought it myself and I'm so happy that I did. Embroidered dresses and tops are my favourite at the moment so I was really happy to add this to my collection after finding it on eBay for £12. I've teamed it with another amazing tiara by Samantha Walden. When I was fund raising for ME Research UK and dressing as a princess for a day I borrowed an amazing tiara from Samantha (post here). At the time I also borrowed a few more designs, this being one of them, it's called Valentina. And isn't she a beauty? This is one of my favourites from the Gold Collection, it's a true piece of art with a nod to the Art Deco designs of the past. I wish Valentina was staying with me, even with its vintage feel it's such a timeless piece that could come out year after year.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend.
