Easter Weekend

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, with lots of fun, food and of course, chocolate. (Hope you're not sick of it yet!) I had a good weekend, although it didn't go to plan as such. I had planned a baking post and an Easter outfit post, but I was too ill to do both. I didn't even make it into my Easter outfit for my Sunday dinner with my family. I did however, get to spend some time with my family in-between resting, which is far more important than pretty pastel pink vintage skirts. And of course I will get to share that with you another time! I think I might still try my hand at making hot cross buns in the next few weeks too, that's if I don't turn into a giant one already. I think I've consumed enough to feed an army over the last two months!

Over the last week I have been decorating our house in all manner of Easter goodies. I may have gone a little crazy at tescos when I saw their Easter craft section! I also got hit by the Pinterest inspiration bug, I was seeing so many posts of Easter wreaths, and as we had a load of Silver Birch twigs hanging around in the garden, I thought I would make my own. Pixie, my cat, thought this was a fantastic idea, it was pretty tricky trying it get the twigs into an egg shape while she was attacking them! I worked on the wreath for a few days, adding bits now and then. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
As I mentioned I spent time with my family, my Auntie was visiting with two of her children, I love spending time with them. I made some Easter nest cupcakes for them on Thursday ready for afternoon tea on Good Friday and sorted out an Easter egg hunt, something we've been doing for the last few years. Luckily this year I counted the eggs correctly before hiding them. Last year we were still finding eggs weeks later!
Here are some photos I took over the weekend.

I'm looking forward to seeing other peoples Easter posts. What did you get up to?

Cherry Blossom

Today I've been wearing cherry blossom in my hair, and why not?! Any excuse to wear flowers in my hair is good enough for me. In fact, if I could afford it and get away with it, I would wear real flowers in my hair all the time. Getting a reputation for being the cat loving girl who always wears flowers in her hair, doesn't sound too awful, although around here they'll just call me weird! If I ever find a man crazy enough to want to marry me, I will absolutely be wearing a massive floral crown on my wedding day. My love of floral crowns has made me think about making my own, both real and faux flowers. Thanks to Pinterest I think I know how to make them! So watch this space, or something like that. This I guess isn't really a crown, I took a stem of blossom off my mums tree and pinned it into my hair. The quickest headpiece ever, althoug, I have a feeling I'll be picking blossom out of my hair for the next day or two!
The dress I choose to wear with my beautiful sprig of blossom, is one I bought about 4 years ago from eBay. I fell in love with the print then and still think it's one of my favourites in my wardrobe. Although the sun was out and making me frown a lot, the grass was still wet from morning due, so my shoes which I got from clarks last year got a little wet!

I'm really looking forward to Easter next week, I've got an Easter egg hunt planned for my cousins and I'm going to try my hand at Hot crossed buns, if they go well I will share the recipe! If not, you can assume they were a disaster!

Lastly, I want to ask a big favour. I know my blog is small and there's so much competition, but if you feel it's worthy of it, please can you nominate me in the Company Style Blogger awards under personal style blog. My blog is a source of such joy to me, that just to be nominated would mean so much! If you can spare 5 minutes the link is (here). Thank you so much!
